Fans of the legendary anime and manga franchise One Piece are facing a brief wait for an upcoming publication, though the delay comes down to an overwhelmingly positive challenge.
According to updates shared via Oricon, the launch of ONE PIECE magazine Special Feature: Heroines 021 has been pushed back by just over three months. Originally scheduled to hit shelves on Sept. 4, 2026, the release date is now officially set for Dec. 11, 2026. This adjustment applies to both the standard version and the Card Bundle Edition of the mook, which were offered as made-to-order items with pre-orders wrapping up on May 22.
Overwhelming Fan Demand Pushes One Piece Magazine’s New Release to December
The official One Piece web portal published a statement addressing the shift, thanking the community for their immense backing while detailing the reasons behind the postponement.
“Thank you very much for your continued support,” the publication’s staff shared. “Regarding the ONE PIECE magazine Special Feature: Heroines 021 Card Bundle Edition… we received a number of orders that far exceeded our expectations. As a result, production will require more time than initially planned.”
The message continued, “Therefore, we have decided to postpone the release of both the Card Bundle Edition and the standard edition until Friday, Dec. 11, 2026. We sincerely apologize for the considerable inconvenience caused to the readers who have been looking forward to the release, as well as to everyone involved. We kindly ask for your understanding.”
A major driving force behind the staggering volume of pre-orders is the inclusion of a highly sought-after collectible for the ONE PIECE Card Game packaged inside the 21st volume. While the exact identity of the card remains under wraps, massive enthusiasm is hardly surprising; earlier in July, promotional card bundles in Weekly Shonen Jump sparked widespread shortages due to aggressive scalping activity.
One Piece: Heroines Arrived on Netflix and Crunchyroll in July
This wave of content centering on the female cast coincides with the early July debut of Toei Animation’s One Piece: Heroines anime spin-off. Steering away from Monkey D. Luffy and the broader Straw Hat crew’s traditional escapades, the special focuses squarely on the dynamic women who form the backbone of the series.
Highlighting the narrative, Crunchyroll outlines the episode’s plot: “After failing to stop the thieves due to ill-fitting shoes, Nami storms into the shop where she bought them for a refund. However, the head designer offers to make her a new pair from scratch on one condition: she must walk in their upcoming fashion show.”
ONE PIECE magazine Heroines 021 is scheduled to hit the Japanese market on Dec. 11, 2026. While the publication does not have a dedicated localized English release, international enthusiasts can secure copies through specialty book sellers such as Kinokuniya USA and Jump Ichiban.
