If a series did not air an episode during a specific week, the rating from the prior week is carried over as a placeholder. Additionally, a series’ premiere is counted toward the first week, even if it debuted later in the cycle.

The standings are calculated utilizing the Ranked Pairs method, with one modification: unrated titles are treated as abstentions rather than automatic low scores.
In practical terms, if 60% of users who rated both Show A and Show B preferred Show A, then Show A will secure the higher rank.
Keep in mind that these lists demonstrate relative preference (viewers favored A over B) rather than an absolute measure of quality (whether B is inherently good or bad). Because the gap between the #1 spot and the #10 spot can be remarkably slim, please don’t take it personally if your favorite series sits near the bottom. It simply means that, on average, the community leaned toward other titles during that particular stretch.
When a series takes a scheduled week off, its previous week’s data is temporarily utilized to keep the weekly chart balanced. While this placeholder does not affect the cumulative leaderboard, it ensures consistent comparisons across weeks.
Additionally, long-running franchises and sequels often benefit from a dedicated audience: since casual viewers tend to drop out, the remaining core fans consistently award high scores. However, if such a franchise hits a weak filler arc, it may suffer temporary dips in the weekly rankings that do not reflect its overall pedigree. Conversely, these niche long-running shows sometimes struggle to attract enough total votes to qualify for the chart in the first place.
