An official website launched on Friday to announce that Nikumura Q’s comedy manga Giant Ojō-sama (Giant Young Lady) is receiving a television anime adaptation. The announcement also unveiled the primary staff, a new visual, and a scheduled premiere of January 2027.
Hiroshi Ikehata (WITCH WATCH) is directing the series at Tatsunoko Production, with Katsuya Oshima acting as assistant director. Hajime Mitsuda (Food for the Soul) is taking on dual roles as character designer and chief animation director, while Yū Satō (Azur Lane: Slow Ahead!) is in charge of series composition and scripts.

The plot follows Oriko Fujidō, the daughter of an immensely wealthy family who inexplicably grows to colossal proportions. Having received an entire town as a fourth-birthday present, her life takes a wild turn when a giant invader attacks. To save her home, her butler Sebastian gives her a special drink that turns her into a giant. While she sets out to defend the town, her massive size threatens to cause total destruction and turn the residents’ lives upside down.
Nikumura Q launched the manga in July 2020 on Shogakukan’s Sunday Webry platform, with the 12th compiled volume scheduled for release on August 10. The series has previously garnered significant attention, earning a nomination for best web manga at the 8th “Next Manga Awards” in 2022 and securing the #5 spot in AnimeJapan’s “Most Wanted Anime Adaptation” poll in 2023.
